The hillock is around 100 m long, 20 – 30 m wide, around 2,5 m high. It is overgrown with shrubs and several bigger trees.
The Midsummer Fest (“Jani” in Latvian) was celebrated on the hillock in the older days and a large Midsummer Fire was lit up, and this is how the hillock got its name. Nowadays it is very overgrown and is not being used for the celebrations anymore.
250 m downwards of the hillock the River Vircava is crossed by a rural road bridge.
