150 m long and up to 40 m wide rocky peninsula with some small junipers. It is the peninsula where the Lõkits (Fire) appears and disappears, most often above the sea visible from there. Lõkits can also be seen from the neighbouring peninsulas and the Lõunaranna port of Simisti village.
Rässa village’s Lõkits (bonfire, fire) is an inexplicable creature or natural phenomenon that many locals have seen at least since the early 20th century. The Lõkits often appears and disappears on the Kalama nina peninsula. Lõkits is seen most often in autumn, during periods of relative calm or high wind on the coastal waters and sometime inland as well. It sometimes stands still, sometimes moves onward quickly. Attempts to approach Lõkits have not succeeded. During the German occupation in 1918, Lõkits was fired on from a German warship, as it was considered a hostile signal fire.
