The Skomaki Linden is a large and, beyond doubt, an old tree, which has split in the middle into two parts (trunks of 5.4 and 4.8 m in circumference). The broken trunks are lying on the branches, which are leaning against the ground. The surroundings of the linden are being overgrow by new birch trees and rowan trees; there are also other larger trees on the slope. There were attempts to facilitate the surroundings, but it has been done in a rather unconvincing way. The circumference of the linden at the height of 0.7 m, where the trunk starts to split apart, is 7.64 m, height of about 16 m, the projection of the crown is 190 sq. m (size taken from: Dabas retumu krātuve (Nature Rarities Storage). There are no reliable news that the Skomaki Linden used to be a tree related to some kinds of believes.
