The Svētezers Lake (the Holy Lake) is located about 3 km in NE direction of Puikule, about a kilometre in N direction of Puikule – Urga highway. It is a small (according to data base information – about 1 ha in size) marshy lake connected by a canal with the larger Paužezers (lake), which is located closer to the above-mentioned highway and about 0.2 km in SE direction of the Svētezers Lake. From the NW side, the marshy Struņķupīte river flows into the lake. The banks of the Svētezers Lake are hard to approach; a fishermen’s path winds along the lake. The uninhabited Ezeriņi homestead is located the closest to the lake, which is about 300 m W of the Svētezers. In another homestead of Brīvzemnieki, the lake’s name was well known, but they could not explain its origin.
